Special Rs 75 coins to mark the inauguration of the new parliament building. The Ministry of Finance announced the launch of a commemorative coin to honor India’s 75 years of independence.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the coin on Sunday. One side will display the Lion Capital of the Ashoka Pillar with “Satyamev Jayate” below it, while “Bharat” and “India” will be written in Devanagari and English, respectively. The other side will feature an image of the parliament complex with “Sansad Sankul” and “Parliament Complex” in Devanagari and English.
The circular coin will have a 44mm diameter, 200 serrations along the edges, and a 35-gram composition consisting of 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel, and 5% zinc. The new parliament building will also be inaugurated by PM Modi, with 25 parties attending while 20 opposition parties choose to boycott.
