President Murmu’s visit, Hubballi police issue traffic advisory


Hubballi: As President of India, Draupadi Murmu will be visiting Hubballi on Monday to receive civic honours from the Hubballi Dharwad Municipal Corporation. The event will be held at the Karnataka Gymkhana Association’s ground in Deshpande Nagar.

The police have issued a traffic advisory for the convenience of the public and requested that they use alternative roads during the VIP movement. The President will land at Hubballi airport around 12 pm and she will straight away visit the venue. After taking part, she will go to IIIT Dharwad campus and, after that programme, she will fly back to Bengaluru.

The police said that vehicle movement would be prohibited during the president’s movements to and from the venue and back to the airport, and residents would have to take alternate routes to their destinations. The Commissioner also prohibited vehicle movement from the Rotary School Junction to the Pai Hotel near the KIMS back gate from the morning to the evening. Those invited to the programme must park their vehicles at the KIMS football field.

Vehicle movement is also banned from Sawai Gandharva Hall, to Gujarat Bhavana, Kumbakonam Plot, and up to Ganapati Gudi Cross, said Police Commissioner Labhu Ram.
