Hubballi: Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mines, and Coal, Pralhad Joshi stated that the Congress party should fulfill all the promises they made in their manifesto without any ifs and buts.
Speaking to reporters at his residence in Hubballi on Saturday evening, he also emphasized that the Congress should continue the development work and that his party and the central government would provide all support. Joshi stated that he would accept the people’s mandate humbly.
Regarding the reasons for the party’s defeat, Joshi said that the party would analyze what went wrong in detail, and after that, they could be able to tell the reason for the defeat. He also added that anti-incumbency might be the reason for the defeat, but the party would analyze it further. He said that this result of the assembly election would not have any impact on the Lok Sabha election as the issues and subjects for the Lok Sabha election would be different from the assembly election.
When questioned if the Gujarat model of fighting the election went wrong for the party, Joshi clarified that they never said that they are fighting the election just as they fought in Gujarat. He mentioned that it was anti-BJP people and some media who created the narrative, and the party did not follow that model in this election.
