On Friday, Mangaluru City police seized Rs 1,92 lakh in old currency and arrested three people in connection with the case. Deepak Kumar 32 of Padil, Zubair Hammabba,52 of Kannur, and Abdul Nazeer (40) of Bajpe were arrested accused.
The trio was driving from Adyar to Lalbagh in a Toyota Innova car carrying demonetized notes. The police pulled over the car for a routine check and discovered the demonetized notes in two bags.
The Barki police have registered a case against the trio. The police are conducting an inquiry form where the accused sourced the demonetized money. The police said they have seized Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 currency notes.
