Hubballi: Wearing a mask in the public place is mandatory but a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jawan entered an argument with the police at the Rani Chennamma Circle over this issue.
Sub Urban Police inspector Ravichandran D B told hubliexpress.com that Manjunath Naiker, a CRPF Jawan from Hulkoti was going to his village from Hubballi airport in his car along with his brother.
The police at the Rani Chennamma Circle intercepted the car, noticing that the back seat passenger was not wearing a mask.
The police asked the Jawan to pay a fine for violation of the rules. This led to an intense argument between the police and the Jawan, Manjunath, claimed that he is a CRPF Jawan and will not pay fine as his brother who was sitting on the back seat was wearing a mask and refused to pay the fine and continued to argue that his brother was following Covid appropriate behaviour. But the police did not buy his argument said the police inspector.
Things get solved when the police tried to seize the vehicle and citing obstructing a public servant from performing their duty. Manjunath later paid a fine of Rs 250 for the violation of the rules and the police allowed them to proceed further.
