Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off India’s sixth Vande Bharat Express between Bilaspur (Chattisgarh) and Nagpur (Maharashtra). PM Modi officially launched the service at Nagpur Railway Station.Modi was flanked by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.
Vande Bharat Express is India’s first semi-high-speed train with first-rate passenger facilities. It can reach high speeds due to quicker acceleration and deceleration, and it will save travel time by 25% to 45 percent.
This Vande Bharat Express has stoppages at Raipur, Durg, and Gondia. It runs six days a week, and takes 5 hours and 20 minutes to complete one leg of the journey, the normal express trains take 7-8 hours. Modi will also unveil phase 1 of the Nagpur metro. He will flag off two lines, one from Prajapati Nagar to Lokmanya Nagar (the “Aqua Line”) and one from Khapri to Automotive Square (the “Orange Line”).
Modi also dedicates the nation to Samruddhi Mahamarg, which spans 520 kilometres and connects Nagpur and Shirdi.
