On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a special screening of the Doordarshan-produced serial Swaraj: Bharat Ke Swatantrata Sangram ki Samagra Gatha at the Balayogi Auditorium, Parliament Library Building.
Swaraj is a 75-episode television series that depicts the history of the fight for independence as well as lesser-known stories from Indian history.
Since August 14, it has been broadcast every Sunday from 9 to 10 p.m. on DD National. Along with English, the programme is being dubbed in nine regional languages: Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Oriya, and Assamese.
The serial Swaraj – Bharat Ke Swatantrata Sangram ki Samagra Gatha was inaugurated at Akashwani Bhawan on August 5 by Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation Amit Shah and Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mines and Coal Pralhad Joshi, Anurag Thakur and others attended the special screening of the serial.
The sources said that there will be a screening of two episodes this evening- one on Shivappa Nayaka and another on Rani Abbakka.
