Hubballi: The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai, has announced that an investigation will be launched to verify the authenticity of an audio clip released by the Congress party.
The clip alleges that Manikanta Rathod, a BJP candidate running for the Chittapur constituency in the upcoming assembly election, planned to assassinate Mallikarjun Kharge, the AICC chief, and his family.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday at his residence in Adarsha Nagar. He said, the investigation aims to determine whether the audio clip, which allegedly contains Rathod’s abusive language towards Kharge and threats to harm his family, is genuine or not.
Basavaraj Bommai, has responded to allegations made against the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) National General Secretary, BL Santosh. It has been claimed that Santosh told BJP workers that the party did not require votes from the Lingayat community.
However, Bommai has dismissed these allegations as “fake news.” A complaint has also been filed regarding the matter.
Furthermore, Bommai mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to campaign for BJP candidates in Haveri on Saturday. The Chief Minister attributed the growing popularity of the party in the state to the “Modi wave” generated by the Prime Minister’s campaign efforts.
