Hubballi: The Srisaila Mallikarjuna Swamy temple is preparing to receive over 6 lakh devotees during the upcoming Ugadi Mahotsava festival, which will take place from March 19 to March 23 in Srisailam.
In order to accommodate such a large influx of visitors, the temple authorities have made some changes. During the festival, only Swami’s Alankara Darshan will be available, and Sri Swami’s touch darshan will not be allowed.
Sri Swami’s Alankar Darshan and Laghudarshan will be permitted to accommodate as during these days 60,000 to 70,000 devotees visit daily. Devotees who wish to have a touch darshan of Sri Swami can do so ten days before the festival period, from March 9 to March 18, at specific times in four phases. However, only 1500 tickets will be distributed at each stage, and the ticket price is fixed at Rs. 500, said the temple authorities.
Devotees from north Karnataka, especially from Raichur, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, Dharwad, Gadag, Koppal, Ballari visit Mallikarjuna Swami temple in Srisaila by foot.
