Hubballi: Bismillah Begum J Kalimirchi has been awarded Ph.D. in History by the Kannada University, Hampi, for her thesis, ‘Muslim Communities of Belagavi Area: A Historical Study’ (from the colonial period to the unification of Karnataka), submitted under the guidance of Dr. Chandrashekhar B Taboji.
Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot conferred the award at the 31st convocation of the university held on December 8. Bismillah Begum is the wife of Gokul Road inspector JM Kalimirchi.
