Hubballi: Vinod Heggalagi, the returning officer of the Hubballi-Dharwad (East) Assembly constituency, has stated that obtaining permission is mandatory for organizing large gatherings such as meetings, weddings, ceremonies, fairs, and rallies during this election season.
To facilitate the process, a single window system has been established, and interested individuals can apply through the Suvidha portal. Additionally, the authorities can be contacted at the phone number 1950 or 0836-2358035, he said.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, he said, as part of the election process, Form 12 D is being issued to voters aged 80 and above, as well as to persons with disabilities who wish to vote from the comfort of their homes. These forms will be collected from April 13th to 18th, and the votes will be cast just prior to the day of voting.
The constituency has a total of 2,07,577 registered voters, including 1,03,295 male voters, 1,04,268 female voters, and 14 others. Among these registered voters, there are 4,080 voters aged 80 and above, as well as 1,621 PwD voters.
To prevent election-related illegal activities, three checkpoints have been established in sensitive areas: one on Karwar Road, one at Gabbur Cross, and one near RK Patil School in Sonia Gandhi Nagar. There are a total of 211 polling booths in the constituency, with 30 of them being identified as sensitive.
Various teams have been formed to ensure the smooth conduct of the election. These include a team to monitor violations of the model code of conduct, 18 sector officers responsible for election-related duties, two video surveillance teams, three flying squads, and one team to monitor election-related expenditures.
