Hubballi: The platform ticket fare at SSS Hubballi, Belagavi, Ballari, Hosapete, and Vijayapura stations in Hubballi Division will be increased from Rs. 10 to Rs. 20 with effect from October 21, and it will remain in effect till October 31. The enhancement of the platform ticket fare is to ensure free movement of bonafide passengers on platforms and to avoid overcrowding during the peak Deepavali festival season and holidays.
But rail users were unhappy with the decision of the SWR, and they demanded that the SWR run special trains during the festival to clear the extra rush of passengers. They requested the same on Twitter, tagging the DRM or SWR, but the officials remained silent.
A few users charged that, because of the negligence of SWR, private bus operators were fleecing the passengers. They shared the screenshots of the bus fare. They demanded that SWR should run special trains between Belagavi and Bengaluru to facilitate the smooth movement of passengers during this festival.
