Hubballi: Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of the AIMIM party, is scheduled to address a rally in Hubballi on May 6 and 7 to campaign for Durgappa Bijawad, the party’s candidate for the Hubballi-Dharwad (East) seat in the upcoming assembly election.
According to party sources, Owaisi will give a speech at a ground near Nekar Nagar bridge on Saturday (May 6) at 6 P.M. On the following day, he will offer prayers at Fatheshawali Dargha near Indipump in the city before embarking on a Padayatra.
Just two days prior, Owaisi had addressed an election rally in the city to garner support for AIMIM candidate Durgappa Bijawad. As the Hubballi-Dharwad (East) constituency has over 1 lakh Muslim voters, Owaisi’s campaign is expected to impact the electoral prospects of Congress candidate Prasad Abbayya. AIMIM is seeking to consolidate the votes of Muslims, as well as other castes and religions, to secure victory in the constituency.
