Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized India’s opposition bloc, accusing them of harboring hostility towards Hinduism during the BJP’s Parivartan Yatra launch in Dungarpur,
Rajasthan. He cited Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks, the son of DMK leader MK Stalin, as evidence of this antipathy, labeling it an assault on India’s heritage.
Shah alleged that the opposition, under the banner of INDIA, was employing divisive “vote bank politics” and “appeasement” strategies, suggesting Udhayanidhi Stalin’s comments were part of this approach.
The controversy stemmed from Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statements at a writers’ conference in Chennai, where he called for the eradication of “Sanatana Dharma,” linking it to hindering social justice and drawing parallels with diseases. In response, Udhayanidhi clarified that he did not advocate for the genocide of Sanatana Dharma followers but aimed to promote humanity and equality, particularly for marginalized groups.
