Old Pension Scheme: KIMS doctors and staff stage a black-badge protest

KIMS doctors, staff stage a protest wearing black badges demanding the government to remove new pension scheme and implement old pension scheme on Tuesday

Hubballi: Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences Doctors’ Association, the KIMS Nurses’ Association, and the KIMS Paramedical Association jointly staged a black badge protest on the KIMS premises, demanding the state government implement the old pension scheme (OPS) and remove the new pension scheme (NPS).

The doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff attended to their duties like treating patients, performing surgeries, and teaching the students while wearing black badges on their shoulders and chests as a mark of protest. “As essential departments, we serve the patients while not neglecting our societal responsibilities,” the doctors explained. They said they continue to support the state association for implementing OPS and show solidarity by wearing black badges.”
