Hubballi: The Old Hubballi police have nabbed a thief who allegedly stole golden ornaments weighing about 46 grams, worth Rs 1.38 lakh, by breaking into a house in Kolekar plot in New Anand Nagar in the city.
The theft happened when the inmates of the house belonging to Firdous were out at work, Firdous handed over the keys of the house to a neighbour to hand it over to her husband as she was going to school to drop her children off and later for work, and the accused allegedly gained entry into the house and stole away the valuables. The police arrested the accused on Thursday, and they were able to recover the stolen ornaments intact.
