No lockdown in the state; decision on extending curbs on Friday.

Bengaluru: The state government is not at all mulling the option of imposing a lockdown in the state to curb the spread of Coronavirus. The decision was taken during a Covid review meeting in  Bengaluru chaired by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday.

Speaking to reporters Health Minister Dr. K Sudhakar said that the meeting discussed quarantining the patients and making calls to the infected patients getting treatment at homes. He said the meeting also discussed conducting the tests as per the ICMR revised guidelines and effectively using the testing, tracing, treatment formula to reduce the spreading of the virus, he said.

He said the CM-led meeting did not discuss extending weekend curfew or revising night curfew, but a meeting on Friday would discuss extending the curbs, he said.
