No holy dip this year: Visitors to Neerasagar reservoir banned

Hubli Express News

Hubballi: Following a surge in COVID cases, the administration is taking various measures, especially after the government asked the Muzarai department to take additional precautionary measures to avoid gatherings during Makara Sankaramana and Vaikunta Ekadashi at religious places.

The Karnataka Water Board, in its latest order, has banned the entry of the public to the Neerasagar reservoir. Every year, hundreds of people from Hubballi, Dharwad, and surrounding villages visit this reservoir to take a holy dip on the occasion of Makara Sankaramana, but this year it was banned following an increase in Coviod cases. The reservoir will be closed to the public from January 14 to January 16.
