The Dharwad district administration removed all the COVID-related restrictions on Wednesday. The administration took this encouraging move as the district’s COVID positivity rate remains near zero. The district administration imposed restrictions following a surge in COVID cases in the month of January.
Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil said that to give a boost to the economic, educational and cultural activities, the COVID restrictions were removed. In the district, there will be no restrictions on holding events, cultural or sports activities.
There will be no restrictions on religious gatherings like annual fairs, religious activities, parties, marriages, social events, and other activities on which COVID restrictions were imposed earlier.
He said seating capacity restrictions in public transport, hotels, libraries, theaters, and auditoriums were all removed, he said.
DC requested the public to follow COVID norms of wearing masks and social distancing, and he requested all those eligible to take COVID vaccines.
