Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries Murugesh Nirani said that building an airport in Badami will encourage tourism and help with the growth of industries in that region. “Our government is working for the strengthening of the domestic air network, which is important for rapid transportation, industrial development, tourism, and other sectors.

Murugesh Nirani is pushing for the new airport in Badami, which he believes will spur the growth of industries, tourism, and other sectors. He said to a newspaper that the idea was to have an airport for every 100 KM. The government is already initiated work on building airports in Vijayapura, Karwar, Raichur, Shivamogga, Hassan.
