The National Investigation Agency has launched an investigation into BJP worker Praveen Nettaru’s murder case. The NIA has registered a separate case in this regard.
A team from Kerala and Karnataka NIA has launched an investigation today. The 32-year-old Nettaru was hacked to death in front of his broiler chicken shop in Bellary by three bike-borne miscreants on July 26.
Nettaru’s murder has caused widespread anger. BJP workers have tendered their resignation, condemning the murder. It also caused tension in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Violence erupted during Nettaru’s final rites procession. A source said the NIA will probe the matter and may apply the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act to the fresh case they registered.
