Mumbai: The next meeting of the I.N.D.I.A, a coalition of opposition parties, is expected to convene in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, reported the Hindustan Times.
After a two-day meeting in Mumbai, the opposition parties are preparing to reconvene in the poll-bound state of Madhya Pradesh. The opposition alliance has committed to contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha election as a united front. However, discussions regarding the alliance’s logo remained inconclusive, and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar reportedly declined the role of alliance convenor.
Uddhav Thackeray, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, emphasized that the appointment of a convenor was not on the agenda. He pointed out that a 14-member panel had already been established to address critical issues, rendering the appointment of a convenor unnecessary, according to reports from several media outlets, citing sources.
A leader present at the meeting disclosed that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal urged attendees to address seat-sharing concerns and resolve them by the end of September.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee underscored the importance of discussing issues and expediting the decision-making process, as relayed by the leader to the media.
