Bengaluru, 14 May (HS): According to reports, the new Karnataka Chief Minister and cabinet will take their oaths on Thursday. The Gandhis, as well as national Congress head Mallikarjun Kharge, will be in attendance. The Congress has invited all “like-minded” parties to the oath-taking ceremony.
According to persons with firsthand knowledge of the situation, the final outlines of the Karnataka cabinet will take shape in a day or two. Today, the Congress held a conference of its MLAs to decide who would be the next Chief Minister.
The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) approved a resolution delegating the selection of the Chief Minister to the Congress national president. According to reports, new MLAs authorized high command to pick a new chief minister. Kharge would take a call after a detailed discussion with the party’s senior leadership.
