Sukma / Raipur, 08 May (HS): Security forces killed two Naxalites (husband and wife) with prize money in an encounter today morning in Danteshpuram forest under Bheji police station area of Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. A reward of eight lakh rupees was declared on one and three lakh rupees on the other.
According to police sources, the jawans, who went on a search under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Sunil, foiled the Naxalites’ ambush. In the ensuing encounter, Gullapalli SOS Commander Madakam Arra and his wife Podium Arra were killed. A reward of eight lakh rupees was declared on Madkam and three lakh rupees on the podium. Weapons and other material have been recovered from the spot. The operation of the security forces and the police is going on to eliminate the Naxalites.
