Dharwad: Famous poet Nadoja Chennaveer Kanavi, 93, who was availing treatment for pneumonia, passed away this morning (Wednesday) at SDM Hospital.
Chennaveer Kanavi was admitted to the hospital after he started experiencing difficulty in breathing. He tested positive for COVID and later recovered from the infection and was shifted to a non-COVID ICU, but his health condition remained critical. Kanavi passed away at around 9.15 am this morning.
His mortal remains likely to be kept for public viewing at KCD College premises and his final rites likely to be held at his Kelgeri farm, said sources.
