Ramnagar: A devastating collision occurred in the Ramanagar district on Monday, resulting in the immediate loss of six passengers’ lives who were traveling in a Multi-Utility Vehicle (MUV) that collided head-on with a KSRTC bus. Several occupants of the bus also sustained varying degrees of injuries.
The grim incident transpired near Kemmale Gate, close to Satnur. According to reliable sources, the victims who tragically lost their lives were returning home after a visit to the Male Mahadeshwar Swamy temple situated atop Mahadeshwara Hill. All six of the deceased individuals hailed from Bengaluru, with some of them being employed at Vidhana Soudha, as stated by police sources quoted by media outlets.
The demised individuals have been identified as Nagesh, Puttaraju, Govind, Kumar, Jyotirlinga, while the identity of another victim remains pending confirmation. It has been reported that more than 12 passengers aboard the KSRTC bus sustained injuries during the collision.
The local authorities, along with the fire and emergency department personnel, faced a challenging task in disentangling the MUV from the entwined front portion of the bus. Through the utilization of cranes and earthmovers, officials managed to successfully separate the two vehicles after intensive efforts.
