MoU signed between Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad (IITDh), and JCB India Limited.

Dharwad: A virtual function for exchanging of Memorandum of Understanding between Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad (IITDh), and JCB India Limited was held recently, in the presence of Vinayak Chatterjee, Chairman of BoG, IIT Dharwad, Prof P. Seshu, Director, IIT Dharwad, Deepak Shetty, CEO and MD, JCB India.

There are opportunities for collaboration between JCB India and IIT Dharwad in areas like AI/ML/IoT, Electric Drive Systems, Sensors and Characterization, Clean Energy.

Prof.Seshu spoke on how the Industry-Academia collaboration has been imbibed in the DNA of IIT Dharwad and that cross-fertilization across different areas is the need of the hour in the current times. He also highlighted that IIT Dharwad has young and energetic faculty members who are very excited to take the collaboration forward.

Vinayak Chatterjee saw a confluence of interest between IIT Dharwad and JCB India and also a scope for setting up a Skill Centre at Dharwad.

Deepak Shetty mentioned that for the success of a country, Academia, Industry, and Governments should come together and work closely and that industries should take advantage of the huge pool of intelligence in academia. The focus needs to be in finding practical solutions to real-life challenges.
