Hubballi: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the National Youth Festival in Hubballi tomorrow (January 12) at Railway Grounds, The DDPU has written a letter to all PU Colleges stating that at least 100 students should be brought to the venue from their respective schools to attend the programme.
This move by DDPU has been criticised by Congress leader Rajat Ullagaddimath, who said that now fewer people are attending Modi’s event. The event organiser is mistreating schoolchildren to demonstrate how crowded the venue is.
He said in the name of government programs, the BJP is doing political programs. BJP members planned to bring students to avoid embarrassing PM Modi, and he condemns such abuse of power.”Let the BJP people and event organisers welcome only those youths who voluntarily take part in Modi’s event,” he said.
DDPU Krishan Naik said that he issued the circular based on the direction of district administration, since it is a youth festival and bringing students of one college would not be correct as the entire college needs to closed, hence it was decided to bring 100 students so that college’s routine should not hamper.
