On Wednesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) shared an intriguing poster on Twitter, featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi portrayed as the ‘Terminator’. The poster bore the message, “2024! I’ll be back!”, cleverly poking fun at the united efforts of the opposition to challenge the BJP in the upcoming general elections.

The accompanying caption from the BJP read, “Opposition thinks PM Modi can be defeated. Dream on! The Terminator always wins.” This comparison likens Prime Minister Modi to the legendary character famously played by Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The anticipation surrounding the 2024 Lok Sabha elections has escalated, with both the BJP and the opposition I.N.D.I.A. bloc scheduling strategy meetings in Mumbai on August 31 and September 1, respectively. The BJP’s move to release the Terminator-themed poster came just a day prior to the meeting of the I.N.D.I.A. opposition bloc in Mumbai on Thursday.

During this meeting at the upscale Grand Hyatt in Mumbai, representatives from 26 opposition parties are expected to engage in discussions, potentially covering topics such as seat allocation for the impending elections. The aim of the two-day gathering is to devise a comprehensive strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party, confirmed the participation of 63 representatives from 28 political parties in the INDIA coalition meeting.

Notably, the BJP-led Maharashtra government also announced its own two-day review session for all 48 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

This assembly of the I.N.D.I.A. bloc comes shortly after the opposition parties tabled a vote of no confidence against the government led by Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha. However, the government successfully quashed the motion through a voice vote.

Conversations pertaining to the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections are slated to commence at the official residence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Mumbai. Key figures including Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, along with other senior leaders, will be present at this meeting.
