The Congress party on Monday announced candidates for the Legislative Council seats election, which is slated to be held on December 10.
The party has fielded Saleem Ahmed from Dharwad. Saleem Ahmed was a former Director-General of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. He is the close aid of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The party received many applications from the Dharwad district, among which prominent were Shakir Sanadi, Imran Kallimani, Ismail Tamatagar, Altaf Halwoor, and AM Hindasgeri.
