Hubballi: Mahesh Tenginkai, the MLA representing the Hubballi Central constituency, on Thursday chaired a meeting with CREDAI office bearers and officials from the sub-registrar department to address the significant increase in property guidance values.
After a thorough discussion, Tenginkai asked the officials to seek fresh objections pertaining to this matter. He expressed his apprehension about the property guidance values surging by as much as 90% in certain areas, potentially leading to higher property taxes for local residents imposed by the municipal corporation.
Tenginkai proposed a revision of the guidance values, suggesting an increase ranging from 15% to a maximum of 30%, ensuring that this limit would not be exceeded. Additionally, he disclosed plans for another meeting in 15 days, during which a subcommittee of members would be convened to engage in further discussions and decisions regarding the guidance values.
In a separate incident, MLA Tenginkai expressed his displeasure towards the late arrival of Sub Registrar Koti and Sub Registrar Nagaraj to the meeting. He sternly cautioned them that he would not tolerate indiscipline and would recommend more stringent actions for such behavior.
Furthermore, Tenginkai emphasized the need for these officials to improve their punctuality, as public complaints had arisen regarding their tardiness to the office and their inadequate attention to visitors.
