Hubballi: Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mines and Coal, has sharply condemned the act of miscreants smearing ink on Basavanna’s portrait in Halasi village, Khanapur taluk.
He stated that it was a peace-breaking act committed by antisocial elements. According to Joshi, this occurrence was extremely condemnable in a society where people lived in harmony based on Lord Basavanna’s teachings.
The union minister further urged that the perpetrators of this conduct be imprisoned and charged with sedition. According to Joshi, the incident has hurt the feelings of Veerashaiva Lingayats as well as Basaveshwara devotees.
