Hubballi: Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mines, and Coal, Pralhad Joshi conducted a meeting with officials from the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation and representatives of the L&T company in the city on Saturday to solve the drinking water problem of the twin cities.
The L&T company was responsible for supplying and maintaining the drinking water system in the cities of Hubballi-Dharwad.
The meeting was prompted by numerous complaints from residents of the twin cities, who were experiencing problems with the availability of drinking water. Many areas were only receiving water once every 10-12 days, causing significant inconvenience. The Corporation and elected representatives faced criticism due to the company’s failure to provide adequate water supply, resulting in a disrupted water supply chain.
Minister Pralhad Joshi strongly reprimanded the representatives of the L&T company, warning them that if they failed to ensure adequate water supply, maintain the system, and rehire previous employees within three days, strict action would be taken against the company, potentially leading to blacklisting.
Key attendees at the meeting included Mayor Iresh Anchatgeri, MLA Mahesh Tenginkai, HDMC member Tippanna Majjagi, HDMC Commissioner Dr. Gopal Krishna, and other officials.
