Many Hubballi Dharwad BJP leaders did not turn up to welcome Yediyurappa

Hubballi: A majority of the BJP leaders did not turn up to receive former chief minister and member of the BJP’s central parliamentary board BS Yediyurappa, who landed at Hubballi airport on Sunday morning.

There were hardly any leaders from the twin cities present to welcome the former chief minister, who worked very hard to build the party in its initial days. A few local leaders from Belagavi were present at the airport. Yediyurappa was to visit Bailhongal to take part in a programme.

Speaking to reporters, Yediyurappa said that the Congress would not come to power in the state and expressed confidence that the BJP would return to power in the state as people like Modi a lot. Commenting on Siddaramaiah’s proposed Rath Yatra in the state, Yediyurappa said that whatever they do, they won’t come to power in the state, he said.

Interestingly, Hubballi’s BJP leaders including Pralhad Joshi, Jagadish Shettar, mayor Iresh Anchatgeri, and Hubballi Dharwad city district president, were in the city on Sunday, as they had organised a free health check-up camp to mark Prime Minister Modi’s birthday celebration.
