Lucknow, 22 May (HS): According to police, a man from Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow was arrested on Monday for reportedly threatening to assassinate Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
On March 25, Manoj Rai from Gorakhpur issued a threat to Congress media convenor Lallan Kumar’s phone. “A case has been registered in Lucknow’s Chinhat police station for threatening to kill Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress media convenor Lallan Kumar,” claimed police.
“The caller identified himself as Manoj Rai, a Gorakhpur resident,” police added. An investigation into this is now ongoing. Several allegations have surfaced recently of famous figures in politics, entertainment, and other fields getting death threats. Authorities conduct investigations before taking action.
