Mysuru: Former minister HC Mahadevappa told reporters in Mysore that he has decided not to contest the assembly election from the Nanjangud constituency. And said that he would allow Dhruvanarayan’s son, Darshan, to contest from the constituency.
Mahadevappa, Dhruvanarayan applied for ticket
Both the late Dhruvanarayan, who passed away just four days ago due to cardiac arrest, and former minister HC Mahadevappa had applied for a Congress party ticket to contest the election from the Nanjangud assembly constituency.
He said that as soon as he saw the dead body of Dhruvanaryan, he decided not to run from that assembly constituency, and he said that his decision had not yet been discussed with anyone. He announced this decision after visiting Dhruvanarayan’s house in Mysuru on Wednesday.
Apart from the late Dhruvanarayan, HC Mahadevappa, Kalale Keshavamurthy, and C Narendra had submitted applications seeking party ticket to contest the election from Nanjangud.
The Nanjangud assembly segment is being represented by BJP’s B Harshavardhan.
