Former Chief Minister S. Bangarappa is linked with Congress’s history. Madhu Bangarappa, his son, would shape the future, said State Congress in Charge Randeep Singh Surjewala and added that Madhu would become a connection between the party’s history and its future.
He was speaking to party officials and workers during a gathering in the city. The Congress party has gained momentum with the addition of Madhu. He expressed confidence that Madhu would put forth a lot of effort to help the party’s development.
He recalled the late Congress politician and Madhu’s father, S. Bangarappa, saying he had an excellent connection with previous prime ministers Indira Gandhi, Rajeev Gandhi, and AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Speaking on the occasion Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah said that if Bangarappa did not join BJP in the year 2004, the saffron party would not have won 79 seats then. Bangarappa was a tall leader who was not restricted to a region or a community.
KPCC President DK Shivakumar said that he was happy to welcome Madhu Bangarappa to the party as he was trained under his father S Bangarappa.
” I was trying to bring him into the party for last 10 years and now I have succeeded. It is like a homecoming for him,” he said.
