Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Government on Wednesday issued an order appointing senior IPS officer M.A. Saleem, a native of Chikkabanavara, Bengaluru, as the incharge Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG-IGP) for the state.
The previous Director General of Police, Alok Mohan, had retired on April 30, and his tenure was extended until May 21.
Effective immediately and until further orders, Dr. M.A. Saleem, who was serving as the CID DGP, has been appointed as the Acting DG-IGP based on his seniority. He assumes the position vacated by Alok Mohan today.
