Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Arrest: Christopher Gibson Apprehended in Fatal Collision Case

Los Angeles, CA: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division announced the apprehension of Christopher Gibson, the alleged perpetrator of a fatal hit-and-run collision resulting in the tragic death of a 32-year-old man.

On the early morning of November 07, 2023, at approximately 1:10 a.m., Gibson was operating a 2011 Mazda 3, traveling westbound on Sunset Boulevard just east of Edgecliffe Drive. In a horrifying incident, his vehicle collided with a pedestrian riding a scooter. Instead of stopping to provide assistance or identify himself, Gibson fled the scene, heading westbound on Sunset Boulevard and then southbound on Lucile Avenue.

Emergency services, including the Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, swiftly responded to the scene. The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital, where, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries, passing away shortly thereafter. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Christopher Gibson, a 31-year-old resident of Los Angeles, voluntarily surrendered to the police and was subsequently arrested on charges of 20001(A)VC – Felony Hit and Run. Following his arrest, Gibson was booked at the Metropolitan Detention Center under booking number 6717460, with bail set at $100,000. This arrest signifies a step towards justice in addressing this tragic incident on the streets of Los Angeles.
