Belagavi: Anirban Goswami, a railway loco pilot, saved the life of a girl and her uncle who had fallen while attempting to board Train No. 16209, Ajmer-Mysuru Express, on February 12 at Belagavi railway station.
The passengers were on their way from Surat to Mysuru. They alighted in Belagavi to purchase some refreshments from the platform stall. They attempted to board the moving train as it began to move, and in the process, the girl slipped out of the train and became stuck between the train and the platform. Anirban Goswami, who was on his way to work, noticed it and instantly pulled them to safety. He received a sprained ankle as a result of his efforts.
Anirban Goswami’s presence of mind drew widespread praise from the public and personnel who were present at the time of the incident. The passengers involved in the aforementioned incident have also expressed gratitude to Anirban for his help.
