On Wednesday evening, Shantanna Kadiwal, a prominent leader of the Kuruba community and serving as the vice president of Kanakadas Shikshana Samiti and VHP in north Karnataka, joined the Congress party.
The event took place in Prashant Colony, in the presence of Jagadish Shettar, the former chief minister and candidate for the Hubballi-Dharwad (Central) constituency.
Kadiwal expressed his support for Shettar, and he was joined by Ashok Badiger, a Dharwad high court advocate who also contested as a Samajwadi Party candidate in the 2004 Lok Sabha election from Dharwad constituency.
In the same event, Shettar campaigned in Prashant Colony and sought the support of the voters. Additionally, Kadiwal holds other notable positions, including district president of Vidya Bharati and district president of Chutuku Sahitya Parishat.
