Hubballi: A 63-year-old man lost his hard money to cyber criminals. The victim is Basappa Gudgeri, a resident of Guruvinahalli in Kundagol taluk.
According to the police, Basappa lost his mobile phone while boarding a bus to his village from Gabbur Cross in Hubballi on September 29, but recently Rs 1.91 lakh was debited from his Union Bank account. According to the police, the miscreants stole his account details from the handset, which he lost while boarding, and the SIM in that handset was linked to his bank account. They used online banking to transfer Rs 5,000, Rs 1,00,000, and Rs 86,000 to their accounts.
