KPTCL recruitment scam? Gadag’s Sonawane and his son arrested

Hubballi: The state police have arrested a father and son on suspicion of leaking a question paper from a competitive examination held to appoint junior assistants for Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL)

The examination to hire junior assistants for KPTCL was held on August 7. There were 21 examination centres in Gadag-Betageri town, and Maruti Sonavane, vice principal of Gadag municipal college, was assigned to examination duties. His son, Samith Kumar, disguised himself as a journalist and entered the examination centre, photographing the questions and sharing them with many others over WhatsApp. The police have arrested Samith and Maruti Sonavane for interrogation.

The police recently detained Siddappa Madihalli in Belagavi district after discovering him using a smart watch while writing the examination. The cops discovered that he was receiving responses from outside. When the police interrogated him, they discovered that Samith Kumar was engaged in leaking the test paper, and the answers were afterwards disseminated.

The authorities assume that there are more people engaged in the scam and are investigating the money involved.
