Hubballi, July 03, 2025: In a significant development for Karnataka’s medical education sector, renowned senior surgeon Dr. Ishwar Hosamani has been appointed as the new Director of Karnataka Medical College and Research Institute (KMCRI), Hubballi. Dr. Hosamani, a seasoned medical professional known for his clinical excellence and compassionate leadership, is set to assume office on July 4 at around 10 AM.
A name that commands respect in Karnataka’s medical fraternity, Dr. Hosamani has served in various prestigious roles over the years — most notably as Principal of KMCRI, where he was widely appreciated for his approachable nature, progressive vision, and dedicated commitment to both patient care and medical education.

With this appointment, he becomes the third faculty member from the Department of General Surgery to rise to the position of Director — following in the footsteps of Dr. Mallikarjun Desai and Dr. B.S. Madakatti.”
