KIMS sting operation: inquiry committee likely to submit its report on Tuesday or Wednesday

Hubballi: A team of two members inquiry committee who visited the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) on Friday to collect the views of the doctors and to collect documents in connection with a sting operation of a news channel which alleged that 11 doctors of the institute skip their duty after registering their attendance is likely to submit its report to Tuesday or Wednesday.

www.hubliexpress.com able to contact one member of the committee and the member informed that their work is almost complete and they need some more information and documents before submitting their report to the government and it is up to the government to take a call on action based on the report, the committee member said.

The member added that they summon few doctors on Monday to Bengaluru to get more details from them and documents.

“ It was late, since morning we inquired the doctors, received their views and viewed their track record and performance and we need to catch a flight back to Bengaluru otherwise the work could have completed on Friday itself. We are also working in the pandemic and we have to submit the report to the government at the earliest and we can’t leave the headquarter for the remaining work. Only about 20 percent of work left,” the member said.

The doctor did not reveal what they inquired about and what were their findings; they said they would submit the report to the government.

The inquiry team headed by the Director of Medical Education Dr Girish and Dr Nagaraj of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases had inquired about the allegations the doctors were facing.
