Hubballi: The Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospital, the leading government healthcare institution in the region, has announced the opening of its new emergency building in just 15 days. The director, Dr. Ramalingappa, said that the new facility has been built at an estimated cost of Rs 28 crore and features seven floors of state-of-the-art facilities.
According to Dr. Ramalingappa, the basement of the new emergency building will be dedicated to the central sterile services department (CSSD). The ground floor will be an expansion of the existing emergency ward, equipped with 40 beds to accommodate more patients.
The third floor of the building will cater to dialysis patients, providing them with the best possible care and treatment. Meanwhile, the fourth and fifth floors of the building will feature six modular operating rooms, which will be equipped with the latest equipment.
The seventh floor of the building will house two conference halls with a seating capacity of 350 and 150, respectively. These conference halls will be used for various medical seminars, workshops, and training sessions, he said, providing a platform for medical professionals to exchange knowledge and expertise.
This building was to be inaugurated when PM Modi was in Dharwad to inaugurate IIT-Dharwad, but some minor works were yet to be completed, the name of the building was dropped from the list of facilities to be inaugurated by the PM.
