Hubballi: The Keshwapur police, who have registered a missing case to find Akhil Mahajanshet, have now registered a murder case based on the facts of the investigation.
Akhil Mahajanshet, 26, son of Bharat Mahajanshet, a resident of Arihant Nagar 1st Cross in Keshwapur, had gone missing on December 1, according to the FIR registered by his uncle with Keshwapur police on December 4.
During the investigation and inquiry, the police claimed to have discovered that Akhil was murdered, based on his father’s alleged confession that he had hired supari killers to finish his son. The police are searching for the dead body, but so far they have not found it.
The fresh FIR says that Akhil had developed drinking habits and was creating problems for the family members. He also allegedly threatened his father, who was fed up with his son’s activities and decided to eliminate him.
The accused, Bharat Jain, had approached Mahadev Nalwad, a resident of Veerapur Oni, and through him, Saleem Moulvi, a resident of Noorani Plot, Old Hubballi, Rehman, and a few others, and they planned a murder. It is said that the prime accused gave Rs 10 lakh to execute Supari. In the FIR it was mentioned, Akhil was kidnapped from his residence in Arihant Nagar by his dad and Rehman and they both took him to the forest areas after Kalghatagi.
The police have said that they are questioning three suspects and will reveal more details by the end of the day.
