Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy has charged that Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s head, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), alleging that the CM is indirectly assisting the saffron party win the next assembly elections in Karnataka by paying Rs 500 crore to the senior Congress leader from Karnataka to work against the party’s interests.
Speaking to the media, Reddy claimed that Rao tried to sabotage the party’s prospects in Karnataka by offering Rs 500 crore to a senior Congress leader from the neighbouring state to create schisms among the 25 ticket aspirants or force them to contest from other parties during meetings at the farmhouse of State Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao. He went on to say that the Congress leader had refused the offer.
Meanwhile, former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has stated that he has no knowledge about this, and he asked why KCR target Congress. For him, BJP is the main rival, not Congress. What he will get by doing this? Asked Kumaraswamy.
