Bengaluru: Senior Congress legislator RV Deshpande will act as pro-tem speaker as Karnataka Legislative Assembly session will be held from May 22 to 24, and a new speaker would be elected then, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
The session will be held to constitute a new assembly, he said, sources said the oath-taking ceremony of the MLAs will be held. Siddaramaiah also said that Indira Canteens which were established by his previous government would run without any hindrances.
Siddaramaiah refused to comment on the allocation of portfolios to the eight legislators who took oath as ministers.
