Mumbai, 14 May (HS): Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state president Jayant Patil said that Maha Vikas Aghadi will fight the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Maharashtra together. Soon there will be a meeting of all the three parties and the distribution of seats will be decided.
Patil was addressing a joint press conference after the meeting of NCP leaders in Mumbai on Sunday. Congress state president Nana Patole and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut were also present on the occasion. Patil said that after the Karnataka election results, a meeting of Mahavikas Aghadi leaders was held under the chairmanship of NCP President Sharad Pawar.
Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) party president Uddhav Thackeray, Congress leader Nana Patole, Ashok Chavan, Jitendra Awhad, Chhagan Bhujbal, Ajit Pawar, Supriya Sule, Subhash Desai etc. top leaders were present in this meeting.
Patil said that in this meeting several issues including Karnataka elections, functioning of the Speaker after the Supreme Court’s decision, ongoing corruption in Maharashtra were discussed. The leaders of all the three main parties have decided to fight together in the forthcoming Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections in Maharashtra.
He said that the meetings of Mahavikas Aghadi have been postponed due to the scorching heat. All those meetings will be held in the month of June. Jayant Patil said that the people of Maharashtra are more worried than the people of Karnataka. The decision of the Supreme Court will be clearly explained to the people of the state.
On this occasion, Nana Patole said that the people of Karnataka have completely rejected Modi-Shah. In Karnataka, only 40 percent commission used to work, but in Maharashtra, 100 percent commission is being taken. The Speaker of the Assembly is not taking action even after the clear order of the Supreme Court. The Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister have also formed the government by sabotaging the MLAs like in Karnataka, the public has prepared to give a befitting reply to this.
In a press conference, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that today a historic meeting of leaders of Mahavikas Aghadi has taken place. In Karnataka, not only Congress, the whole country has won. This victory will continue till the next elections. The misleading news of displeasure in Mahavikas Aghadi is being spread by the BJP itself, which is completely wrong.
